Andy Gray

Andy Gray was born in Swindon, Wiltshire. He took up the trumpet at the age of 7 and served as a chorister at Winchester Cathedral from the age of 8 to 13. In 1996 he took up a place at the Royal Northern College of Music graduating in 2000 with a B.Mus degree.

Andy has worked with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Manchester Camerata, and with the Orchestra of the Golden Age playing baroque trumpet. In 2001 he made the move to London and from 2003-2005 attended Trinity College of Music on an ‘Archer’ Scholarship playing in the Trinity Jazz Orchestra directed by Bobby Lamb and studying with ex Syd Lawrence Orchestra lead trumpet, Mike Lovatt.

In the West End, Andy has depped with the orchestras on Fame, Saturday Night Fever, Dancing in the Streets, and Billy Elliott. He has toured Europe with the Glenn Miller Memorial Orchestra and joined the Syd Lawrence Orchestra in 2005.
